Faculty of History of the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education “Chechen State University named after A.A. Kadyrov" was created in 1969. Its founder and first dean, who held this position for about thirty years - 1969-1997, was Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Aslanbek Imranovich Khasbulatov (1937-2013).
Over the years of its existence, the Faculty of History has made a significant contribution to the training of highly qualified historians engaged in teaching and research activities in almost all regions of the Russian Federation.
The faculty is focused on preserving the best traditions of education, continuous development and innovative activities, training bachelors in the following areas of training: 03/46/01 History, 03/51/04 Museology and protection of cultural and natural heritage sites, 03/41/01 Foreign regional studies, 03/51/01 Culturology. Masters are also being trained in the field of study 46.04.01 History and graduate students in the group of scientific specialties 5.6. Historical sciences (5.6.1. - Domestic history, 5.6.2. - General history, 5.6.3. - Archeology, 5.6.5. - Historiography, source study and methods of historical research).
On the basis of the educational archaeological laboratory, scientific and expeditionary research is carried out aimed at studying the ancient history of the Chechen Republic.
Graduates of the faculty are in demand in the system of science and education, archives, museums of the republic, and in the public service.
The concept of the faculty's target activity and its structures is formulated on the basis of understanding the multifaceted role of the historian as a researcher, teacher, mentor, multifunctional expert capable of responding to socio-cultural, political and economic challenges and risks of modernity and formalizing the results of his analytical research activities in the field of history in terms accessible to the general public. At the present stage of development, the Faculty of History sees its strategic task in preparing high—level historians not only in terms of the quality of academic knowledge, but also in terms of its value orientations, among which honor, dignity, and patriotism are in the first place.
