The history of the Faculty of International Education at the Kadyrov Chechen State University is inextricably linked with the broader tradition of international education established back in the Soviet period and the early 1990s. Already in those years, the university accepted foreign citizens, predominantly from the Middle East. Back then, the majority of international students were Chechen repatriates, which contributed to the formation of sustainable academic and cultural ties with foreign states.
A new stage in the development of international education at the university began in the 2020s, driven by the increased interest of foreign applicants in pursuing education in the Russian Federation, particularly in medical education. A significant increase in the number of international students studying "General Medicine" in English necessitated the creation of a specialized organizational structure to manage the educational process and provide academic support for the students.
In 2024, the Department of International Medical Education was established within the structure of the Medical Institute of Chechen State University. Its primary tasks were to organize English-medium instruction for international students, coordinate the educational process, and form a teaching staff capable of training specialists at an international level.
The department's teaching staff was drawn from the university’s faculty members as well as practicing physicians from the medical institutions of the republic. Senior Lecturer and surgeon Shono Arsby Ahmad was appointed Acting Head of the Department of International Medical Education.
Further growth in the number of international students led to the need for expanding the international department's structure. On September 1, 2025, the department was reorganized into the Faculty of International Education. The faculty was located on the university campus on Lev Yashin Street, in close proximity to the student dormitory where a significant portion of international students resided, thereby enhancing the efficiency of administrative, educational, and extracurricular work.
At the time of the faculty's establishment, it had an enrollment of over 650 international students. Shono Arsby was appointed Acting Dean of the faculty. Initially, the structure of the faculty included only one department—the Department of International Medical Education.
To ensure the sustainable development of the faculty, a management team was formed:
— Vice Dean for Research: Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Dadaev Adlan Yarakhanovich
— Vice Dean for Academic Affairs: Candidate of Medical Sciences Dokaeva Taisa Sultanovna
— Vice Dean for Extracurricular Activities: Senior Lecturer Madaeva Malika Supyanovna
